Response to "7 Things You Should Know About Creative Commons"
I believe I have read this article before, however it is a nice refresher, it is crazy how throughout the day I can easily do so many "illegal" things without realizing I'm violating a copyright law. Creative commons is a type of licensing created to help share works and property without making it a violation of some law. For instance even if you give credit to the artist who took a picture and then you post it on your website, you are still breaking a copyright law. However if the artist agrees to a creative commons licensing they can choose how users may make use of their work. So the artist might agree to letting users copy and distribute their photo if all credit is given to the artist. Basically creative commons makes borrowing, sharing, giving credit and using others work easier.
In previous classes I have found that when looking to use an image or song for a project or blog typing in creative commons in the search engine or using things like Flickr: Creative Commons is an easy way to find things that fall legally into the CC licenses.

Week 1 Response to "The Injury Prone QR Skeleton"
This week I read an interesting post on the "Technology in P.E. Geek" RSS feed. The blog was about the use of QR codes with the human skelton. The blog author had a model of the human skeleton and attached QR codes to different bones. QR codes are like barcodes you would find on things you buy at the grocery store. However these QR codes can be scanned by your smartphone and will link you to different apps or sites. Many different apps let you work with QR codes but the author recommended i-nigma. He used the app to connected the QR codes to youtube videos. Each of the QR codes represented some type of injury of the bone. So for instance if the QR code was on the talus it might take them to a youtube video about stress fractures that occur on that bone. Obviously this was for higher level learners but could be used for almost anything in the classroom. What a fun way to learn about things if students had ipads or iphones they could use. My school does have a classroom set of ipads for student use. I think it would be interesting to do this with different exercises for different body parts. I would like to incorporate this into a future lesson. Great blog!
